Article 3: Material above all

Before the fragrance, there is the material.

What we touch, what we see, what we encounter every day.

At JLT, every candle is designed as an object in its own right.

The wax, the wick, the container: nothing is merely decorative. Everything is chosen for its purpose and function.

Material sets the rhythm for the flame.

It shapes the way fragrance diffuses, the way light settles, and thé Wayne an object finds its place within a space.

A candle is not simply made to burn.

It exists before, during, and after it is lit. Resting, extinguished, it remains present, silent, almost contemplative.

JLT favours understated, durable materials, designed to stand the test of time without imposing themselves.

Because a well-considered object dose not need to be ostentatious.

The material is there to accompany the gesture.

Simply.
